Just picked up a 19 denium grey SGS. The only thing I can not stand is the bar height. I'm coming from a 2013 Sportster with 14inch aps so it's just to low for me. Question is what would the bar height be for my hands to be right under the front faring? Right about the top of the speakers so they are still out of the wind but up about 4-5 inch. And I like the width that's fine just not the height. Just setting on it, it seams that would be the perfect height. Thanks in advance for any help.
You will be safe with 12" bars but 14" will put your hands just over the top of the fairing. But ask yourself if this is really that big of a deal. If you like the height as previous poster said, go with that height.
I went with 12" on my Road Glide but only because I didn't listen to my own advice of getting the bars you want the first time around. Get the bars and cables that you want first time around and don't skimp because of the added cost of the cables.
Wild One Chubby 10”. Nice difference from stock and just below the top of the fairing. You have to buy mirrors as these will block your fairing mounted mirrors. The blue/black bike has Wild One Chubby 12.5” with SG fairing mounted mirrors. Check out their website for a lot of pictures.
There are so many ways to go. I put Khrome Werks 1" 2+2 NARROW SWEEPER on my 2012. They work for me, I especially like the narrow version.
I recently sat on a 2019 at my local Harley shop that had these on it - Batwing Chizeled Handlebar - Gloss Black Part Number 55800299. They were comfortable for me and appeared to be the height you are looking for. Could also try these Satin Black Batwing Mini-Ape Handlebar Part Number 57485-11. There are pics on the HD website that'll give you an idea of what they look like.
There are literally hundreds of choices. Good luck in your search.
Your 12” bar of choice (Chubby’s have similar pullback) mounted back toward you instead of pushed all the way forward, should fit the bill. Have 12” Yafee’s on my 14 FLHXS. Played with pulling them back until they were comfortable which kept the knuckles free from the bugs, hands over speakers...but did have to move mirrors as previously posted.
You are going to have to go with 10" bars in order to keep your hands under the fairing - 10" isn't going to give you much more height than you already have. I have a '17 Street Glide Special and went with the Factory 47 12" Assault bars. They look bad *ss. What's really cool about them is they are thicker than most other bars, which looks really good on the Street Glide. I had a set of Yaffe Monkey Bars but these looked so much better. You can go up to 14" bars with the Factory 47s and not have replace any of your cables. Also, keep in mind you are either going to have relocate the mirrors to be under the handlebars, which is impractical and looks horrible, or get new ones. I will find some pics for you and post them.

yea if you could get a few pictures that would be awesome for sure. Really don’t wanna get into replacing the line and all that. From what I have read as long as I don’t go over 12” I can use factory lines correct? thanks
