Good Morning I replaced my compensator with a V Twin 32 tooth gear and now my cruise doesnt work and my 6th gear light. Any ideas what it might be.I have a 2008 ultra classic with a screamin eagle race tuner.

When I had used an EVO Industries 30 tooth direct sprocket instead of the comp on my 08, I lost 6th gear light but not cruise. When I went to the 49 tooth ring gear conversion, I had to use the TTS tuner to configure it so that I had cruise and 6th gear light. If you have one of the original SE tuners, I would send it in to TTS Mastertune to have it converted to a TTS unit for like $100. It will allow you to reconfigure to get your 6th gear light back and it’s a better tuner.

There is no 6th gear SWITCH, the light is turned on by the ECM when engine rpm and transmission output shaft match a preloaded ratio. When PRIMARY ratios are changed, the engine rpm in relation to transmission output shaft no longer fits within the ECM programing to turn on the light. The cruise control no longer works either, probably (just a guess) part of the cruise control safety programming to prevent a runaway. Re programing the ECM with the new values corrects the situation, as indicated above.
