Baffle Question
Im getting ready to slip my Rinehart True Duals mufflers back onto the header after having them off for other work I did, and was thinking of swapping to the 2.5” hi flow baffles before I did.
Just curious, are there any other baffles not made by Rinehart that will fit the ‘99-‘06 Touring 3.5” True Dual mufflers?
I didnt know if there there were any companies or anyone who made baffles. Probably not, I can’t see where there would be much you could do that the exhaust manufacture didn’t already do or offer, but figured I would ask before I ordered s set of the hi flows.
Funy story, a buddy told me a tall tale about a guy taking two square cheese graters, and cutting them down one side, then using a 2.5” pipe and a hammer, bent them into a round cylinder. He then cut about 1/16” off and mated the ends so it was 2.5” diameter, and Tig welded it into a cylinder, and to each other. Then cut them to same length as the baffles, welded closed the holes toward each end and ended up with a home made 2.5” baffle.
Now keep in mind this guy is full of ****. He also claims to ride wheelies “ALL THE TIME, MAN” on a ‘04 street glide.
I dont k ow if this really happened, and if so, how long it took for these homemade baffles to come apart but I must admit it perked my interest.
No worries, I will not be attempting to fabricate baffles. I did however, weld a crack in my rear cylinder header for the True Duals. I hear they are notorious for this, but don’t have the money to get different system or replace the headers. I am curious to see how long it takes to crack again.
I’m rambling.
Back on subject, any baffle options besides what Rinehart offers for the tie dual mufflers??
