[QUOTE=motoguy82;19044488]I had the Harley get a grip magnum grips, but I decided they were actually too big diameter to be really comfortable. I liked the texture, so I tried PM contours. I liked the PM contour grips so much I put them on multiple bikes. Expensive, but really nice and have the option to replace the rubber, which is made by Renthal. Left grip is set-screw, as mentioned in a previous post. [/QUOTE

Had those on previous bikes and loved them! They make nice ****. A bit $$$ but I’m glad to spend coin on quality stuff.
Rubber always deteriorates and metal gets to hot in the sun. I prefer leather. When my stock heated grips started to get sticky, I bought a padded leather wrap on Amazon. Cheap and very comfortable. The stock heated grips will heat through the leather and warm it up nicely. Looks good too. My Road King doesn't have heated grips and I replaced them with plain black leather grips from Coolsac. They also make some fancy grips you might like.
Kuryakyn Premium ISO-Grips with Contoured ISO-Throttle Boss
These grips are very comfortable and help keep hands cool.
Everything made by Kuryakn is junk in my opinion. People talk of their warranty cause they have to use it.
I put a pair of heaters in handle bars. They were market for bikes, but they were to hot. But with stock grips I did ok turn them on and off. Before goign to AK I wanted something better than the rock hard stock ones. So I put these on.
In the canadian rockies some thousands miles from home, I turn on. The throttle swelled and got stuck open. I was able to use a leatherman and hack off the metaled plastic and crazy glue back together. The other side the glue came loose and the outer shell spins freely from inner sleave.
That was 11 years ago, interesting it still spins free, and is nice actually. Though now the rubber is wearing. Shinny outer layer of rubber is gone. Rest will probably go soon.
I bought a set of Grab on foam grip covers several years ago and they are still going strong. When I buy a new bike, I carefully take them off the old bike and install them on the new. They have been on a ‘96 Road King, a ‘05 Road King, a ‘08 Electra Glide Classic, and are now on my ‘14 Street Glide Special. They really help without the hassle of installing new grips.
Looking to replace my factory grips.
Comfortable for long distance.
Dont like those with decorative metal inserts.
Any sugestions ? Pics?
thanks in advance !!
I went with the Avon Foam Grips on both my Deluxe and Ultra, very comfortable and durable.
