Kuryakyn Premium ISO-Grips with Contoured ISO-Throttle Boss

These grips are very comfortable and help keep hands cool.

Wouldn't want or run anything else and I've run several different brands including HD's and Kuryakyn's for me with arthritis in both my hands are the most comfy bar none.

I'm a cheapskate at times. In fact, my "frugalness" (is that really a word?) is legendary among my fellow riders. With that said, I wanted better grips, but I didn't want to spend the bucks for them. I went to Dick's Sporting Goods and bought a roll of tennis racquet grip replacement tape and wrapped it over the stock grips. I spent something like $7.00. Once applied, I put a layer of electrical tape around the outer edge to keep it from wanting to unravel. It's pretty sticky by itself, but I'd suggest the electrical tape. They're not as pretty as new grips, but they work! They are bigger around now, and my hands never slip on them. Been on there for two years now and no problems. YMMV.

Speaking of cheap, instead of buying HD's $40.00 front axle covers, I made some out of PVC pipe end caps I had laying around the shop. Put some Bondo in each one and shoved them over the axle ends and held it centered there for a few minutes. Once it set up I pulled them off, drilled a small hole for a set screw and painted them black. Bingo! You can't tell them from the HD product. (See photo below. You'll also note my cheap mudflap I made out of a piece of truck tire inner tube.)

Ooh! Ooh! Important tip for those of you interested. If you are going search for Dick's Sporting Goods on the internet, DO NOT put "Dicks" in the search field. Don't ask how I know that.

I had the Harley get a grip magnum grips, but I decided they were actually too big diameter to be really comfortable. I liked the texture, so I tried PM contours. I liked the PM contour grips so much I put them on multiple bikes. Expensive, but really nice and have the option to replace the rubber, which is made by Renthal. Left grip is set-screw, as mentioned in a previous post.

I put Avon's on last year. Much better than the stock grips on my 2018 FLHCS. A bit larger, more cushion and vibration isolation.

x2 - Really like these, and I also went with the heated, but they also come in a non-heated version. Grip is great and I like how my finger relaxes into the grove. Gives my middle finger much needed rest for the drivers around me.
