So I just got this ride.....previous owner didn't have the ignition key.....but it would go on & off ok.....couldn't fork lock it of course.....So today I switched it to ACCY to see what powers up, and it locked! And of course, I don't have a key!!
UGH.....Does anyone have any ideas on what I have to do now to recover this thing??
Of course, any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I hope I'm not breaking any rules by posting this issue in multiple HD forums......just lookin' for guidance!
Hi from the UK and welcome to HDF. I have a 1990 FLHS, bought new, although I must admit I haven't had that problem, as I still have all the keys it came with. Your bike is an Evo like mine and we have a dedicated Evo section, where you can meet up with plenty of fellow owners of bikes like yours, so do call by!
I guess it is about time for a call to the locksmith. I do not think you can take the switch off locked. That bike should still have the flat key, so it should be cheaper to do than the barrel key.
