Default Quick help

So I think I have figured out my answer, just want to make sure. I had new pipes installed at the dealer. I was washing my bike this morning and noticed this stud did not have a bolt back on it. I watched several youtube videos and learned this is a stud that holds a clamp for the original exhaust. Not being very engine intelligent, I just want to make sure that's all it is and doesn't need the nut tightened back on. Thank you for the feed back.

Yes, it's just the forward exhaust hanger mounting stud. If you are using the stock header it should still be used. If not, an acorn nut (like for your mirrors) works well to cover it so it won't rust etc.

The dealership could have been decent and put one on there for you but we know how that goes sometimes.

Thank you for the replies, I took it back to the dealership and showed them. That's some shitty work in my opinion...

I would have at least screwed the original nut back on if I'd been doing it myself, but am not at all surprised dealer didn't and sure wouldn't expect them to put an acorn nut on just to cover a stud that's no longer used. If you're that finicky probably better off working on it yourself, just sayin'. That's what I do.

If you don't put a nut and lock washer on it your front wheel will fall off.

Locktite??? Damn rookie ...thats a job fer sum of dat j-b weld. Lol. Get used to the dealer doing less than stellar work or get yourself a factory service manual and just do it yourself. Youll get to know your bike and save money.
