AIM Light force
So my AIM LF2 let go yesterday - installed just a year ago and around 5k miles......pretty **** performance frankly, though the nice people at AIM have offered to mail me a new replacement seals.
My question is given 1 year is not good and something I don't want to make an annual maintenance issue How many have actually repaired and then gone onto have a decent time with it....simply not sure if im wasting my time and better off going to another manufacturer or even oem....?
Thanks

Unfortunately it's cases like yours that steered me to another manufacturer from the onset as I went with a Mueller Hydro Clutch instead. So far I have about 3k miles on it with no trouble.
Best of luck on getting this sorted out and deciding what to do!
I may not be interested in trying LF3 if this LF2 fails. I dont want to spend another $300 for a reduced clutch pull that (IMO) HD could have addressed from the factory.
Very much enjoying the combination of LF2, and 3/4" reduced reach lever combination, but I digress.
Roy, I hope your back on the road ASAP!

There are plenty of happy AIM customers, and I am one of them. I love my SDR, just decided to not risk it on the slave cylinder.
Hopefully, this is the last one you will have to replace. I hate pulling that damn exhaust.
Good luck, man!

AIM clearly got the model 1 wrong and corrected it with model two, a rife search on the internet does indicate a high failure rate with these also, whilst the casing looks and seems fine the problem lies with the seals, these being so bade failure seems common to the point AIM will send you out a free replacement seal kit....the issue here though is why you should even be contemplating replacing slave seal gaskets after just a few thousand miles, (and its my reckoning that a year on we will be seeing yet another replacement), after all its agg replaying this thing no?
If you are an international buyer AIM ask you to pay postage, not cheap between states and europe!!
Overall piece of **** kit and poor customer service - there are better products out there.
I wont go into Rekluse as I havnt had one however when this AIM unit blew I switched to a Muller unit, made right here in Europe. Now by contrast a google search does not reveal failures, actually I havnt found one...perhaps as it uses the oem seals and oem units dont often leak this is the sweet spot.
Take my advise or leave it and this is particular if you are outside of US - dont buy an AIM there is at least one better alternative out there...

I was considering the AIM, but at the time, for a twin cam, you needed to switch not only the clutch slave, but you had to use an adapter for your cutch line fitting. You also had to change the master cylinder... That made the AIM much more expensive and more install work than the Muller... so I went with Muller
I remember reading that AIM had an issue with some early units reference the seals... since I didn't use it, I didn't pay much attention, but I thought that seal issue was dealt with on newer AIM units...
In any case, if you don't want to use/try/deal with AIM, there are now other choices out there...
