Hi all, have a 2004 ultra classic and the right hand indicators have stopped working. Also when I toggle the right hand switch I get a red key on dash. Goes off when I turn off right hand switch. Anybody have any ideas on what would cause this. Thanks in advance

I see you are a new member to the forum, don't know if you have been lurking in the background and just posted your question twice or you just found the website or what...but. I would urge you to introduce yourself in the new member area first, read the rules and you may get a few more posotive replies if you do. Do it right away because some of the regular members will probably see that you are not just looking for "instant gratification" or "instant answers" to your questions and truly do want to belong to the group.
That being said I have had issues with turn signals and brake lights on my current bike, 2016 Tri Glide and a 2013 Ultra Classic which was my last bike. The Ultra Classic all of a sudden one day started to show issues with the right side turn signal but NO warning lights on the dash. When I pushed the turn signal on it would work but I could not get it turned off I was not far from the dealership I use so headed over. By the time I got there the right turn signal would turn itself on all by itself and would not turn off. Under warranty, was a switch pack, in and out in no time, good to go.
The Tri Glide on Saturday, could not get the cruise control to work, had a couple of lights on the dash. I pulled off the highway into a parking lot and checked everything I could sitting there and found nothing wrong. Again close to the dealership so I pulled in and the service manager checked out the codes and it showed something related to the factory stereo and I had no brake lights but turn signals worked fine. It turned out to be the foot brake light switch. They had it in stock and replaced it, all good again.
I have a great dealership and I trust them because they always fix things right the first time and the owner and salesperson are both club brothers. I realize that many people here do everything they possibly can themselves and that is cool, they are the ones who may be able to point you in the right direction. After you introduce yourself in the new member area and follow the rules. Promptly buy a service manual for your sled if you work on it yourself. If you do those things you will have a much better chance of getting some information from other members who may know what is up. If you don't do those simple and respectful things...well I hope you have thick skin.
Good luck!

Have you checked the bulbs, front and back.
Is the left side working ok and what happens when you put your hazards on?
Once had a loose bulb on one of my bikes that I chased for months that caused a similar but not exactly the same issue you are having.

Hi gisboro. Have changed bulbs front and back. Left side all OK. When I use the hazards only the left work. Also only the left telltale works. Bike starts and runs OK. All the other lights work.

The red light on the dash means you have a problem with your lighting. Check to make sure the bulb is seated securely in its housing and the harness is plugged in securely.

Check the right side for a broken or pulled out wire, can be a bit of a pain in the **** tracing it, but, if your bulbs are good and seated like they should be then that would be the next thing to check on.

Remove the bulbs and with a meter or test light check for power at the bulb contacts.

Since you seem to be indicating this problem is with both the front and rear, check also the switch. This is the point at which the wiring starts for those bulbs.

FYI: The light in the dash is the indicator lamp, the front and rear lights are the signal lamps.

Unplug the connector from the TSSM.

Use a jumper wire to connect pins 1 & 6 on the connector (not the tssm).

Turn ignition switch on, do the right hand signal lamps and indicator light up ok?
