Default Quick Release Back Rest mounting

I have an 02 RKC that came with the tour pack. I purchased a back rest/rack that has different mounting locations than the Tour Pack. I can not figure out what bracket I need to mount the rear posts for the quick release system. Another thing that kinks this up is that the air fill is right where the post needs to go. I'm sure this is easy for the Harley folks but this is my first Harley and I just don't know all of the brackets etc needed. Do I need one of the kits below?

Mounting hardware changed in 2009. You may have got a back rest for a newer bike.

I'm thinking you purchased the wrong backrest for the bike. DId you purchase new or used?

`It's used but it came off the same model run. I may just have to go up to the dealer and see what's available for mounting brackets.

If your sissy bar is for 97-08 then you need a kit like this:
