Throttle cable issues with 10" bars
2007 FLHTC, installing 10" yaffe bagger bars. Stock throttle cables were binding and sticking in left turns, so I replaced with a +4" pair from hill country custom cycles. Somehow I got cables for a road king, but was told by hill country they're identical to flht cables and wouldn't be an issue. (??) Now throttle is smooth and snaps back with bars turned left, but sticks when turned right. Are these too long? Or just wrong cables completely? Only difference I see is cruise switch is a little closer to the throttle body side, and they have 90 degree bends rather than 110 degree. (Or whatever stock is) Thanks in advance for any help, really regretting starting this project
Hello, only an educational guess...do you think they are binding because of the route they are taking inside the fairing or anywhere else ? I don't believe too long of a cable would interfere with cable sticking or dragging. I agree on the project, i just finished doing my 2006 flhxi with 10" bars from KST....not as easy on the older bikes.
