Default Risers for Roadglide

Has anyone put on risers for a 2006 Roadglide.
I'm looking for about 2 inch height increase and about a 1 inch pull back. Also, would like to know if you can install risers and leave the plastic cover in place.
Thanks

I agree. If you want a different hand position get some different bars. (I changed to stock bars from a Dyna Wide Glide) None of that plastic around the bars and ignition will fit if you put on taller risers

Thanks for the info. I was trying to avoid dealer charge of 2-3 hours labor.

I have the Wideglide handlebars on mine also. Save the money and do it yourself. It's alot easier than you think.

WideGlide bars are great on RGs (and RK's).

The install is quite simple, even for those with only marginal mechanical skills. Should take only a couple hours (or less)for almost anyone. Just a few tools are required. All stock cables & wiring works. The only change rerequired is re-routing the clutch cable so that it runs outside the "snout"... so that it is between the left inner fairing and the left fork tube. THen you will need to add a cable clamp like the one that is used on a RoadKing - where it mounts to the side of the fork assembly.

It's very simple and istime well spent. Total cost is just under $50 for WG (pre-2006) bars and the clamp.

Trust me if I can do it = you can. I have done it twice on my EG and now twice on my RG - buy a service manual and also somewhere here on the forum is a very good and LONG post on how to do it... Hell, I even got brave last Aug and changed my EG into a RG - it can be done and YOU can do it... several of us here have done it...
