Default Primary vent effectiveness

Does anyone who had fluid transfer have results from the primary vent service bulletin? I have very high fluid transfer, 18oz in 4600 miles. Before I go through the work and expense of installing the kit I’m seeking real world experience since the moco doesn’t even want to acknowledge there’s a problem.

I believe the problem has been acknowledged by H-D. Hence the bulletin.

They don't acknowledge a problem? I wonder why they developed the vent then?

A Bull$hit rant...

The moco acknowledged the problem and fixed the issue with the vent, years ago.

The fix has been discussed ad nauseum on this forum.

Nice first post. What Dan said, the MOCO has identified and came up with the fix.

Granted they developed several attempts at correcting the problem with several bulletins. But their official line is still “in rare cases, caused by riding style”. Acknowledged would have been a recall with a proven fix.
I have worked for several automotive manufacturers and the bulletin and verbiage used is the legal department not acknowledging the problem to avoid a manufacturing change and recall.

Most, if not all, vehicle recalls are safety related issues, which this is not. Hence, a service bulletin was issued.

The expense is a $4 hose and a qt of fluid. Not a great expense in my world

Link is provided above for a long thread discussing the vent. It works and as of late '19 installed at the factory

They did acknowledge the issue! Secondly, they produced a part that would rectify the issue. Thirdly, they would install said part if you had the issue under warranty. And finally, after the part for correction was made available, all the new bikes that potentially could have the issue, came with it installed from the factory. Not sure what else you wanted them to do....

This is just another person who joined the forum to rant and he isn't getting the sympathetic responses he was expecting.
