You have to be careful on here, a lot of people are butt hurt. Harley starting making this M8 4 years ago. You only have to ride one a couple of thousand miles to find out there's a problem here, (absolutely little to no R&D) and they still haven't corrected it, I know I've got a 2020 FLHTK. So we have two problems, a company who won't fix their bikes, and people who are to ashamed they got bit.

I have worked for several automotive manufacturers and the bulletin and verbiage used is the legal department not acknowledging the problem to avoid a manufacturing change and recall.
Many of us owned the 2017 early bikes that were number 1 on the list and never had the issue. So it was not all bikes. The vent fixed the issue. Do not confuse the transfer issue with sumping to different issues.

...the best solution is;
buy a 2021 Touring Harley.
It will have a cable operated clutch and a vent hose installed.
You won't have to worry with Trans Oil Transfer.............

You should probably head over to the engineers forum and rant to them about how stupid they were to design something that transferred oil in the first place and let it out the door without sufficient testing?

Sounds like you need to find a more honest dealership.

The head service writer at my dealership showed me the bulletin from Harley which tells them how to document fluid transfer, and the procedure for claiming reimbursement for performing the vent install at no charge to the owner, even if the bike is no longer under warranty. My '18 Street Glide is in the documentation phase right now, and I am confident of a satisfactory resolution to the problem.

Subscribed for entertainment potential, unless OP is a one and done.

Yep…slow news day…subscribed.

OP won’t be back.

It’s not a safety issue…I had the transfer, I’ve read nearly every post on the subject over time, I don’t recall ever seeing one instance of a trans locking up, not one.

Probably do like most, Put less amount in primary, keep adding oil to the transmission, and eventually after it transfers over to the primary you'll have the correct amount in each for about 200 miles.
