I have a 14 SGS I am about to pick up a reall night used oem tour pack off a 11 road glide ultra, I want to put a quick detach on it but I have seen different info on which will work properly. Any guidance would help thank you I attach pix of the pak Im getting.
You are buying a pre Rushmore tour pak for a Rushmore bike. The quick disconnect for your bike is not made to fit a 2013 or earlier tour pak. Can it be done, probably but not plug and play.

Are you referring to wires or the mounting system, Im currently worried about just mounting to the bike
Both wiring and mounting. Pre Rushmore, 2013 and earlier, mounted to a round tubular support. Rushmore's, 2014 and later, mount to a flat metal surface. Not completely sure on the wiring but most likely not the same type plug between the 2014 bike and 2013 tour pak.
Look at the tour pak mounts on H-D.com parts.
It will fit on your bike. Buy the mounting bracket for your bike and then you may have to drill new holes in the metal plate and the bottom of the tour pak to bolt it on. Drilling the holes is no big deal as you have either a rubber mat or a liner that covers the inside of the tour pak bottom and you won't see the bolts sticking out under the mount plate unless your laying on the ground.
The lights are a different story. You may have to change to match the current style wiring configuration or possibly move some wires around in the connector to make it work. I had an 2003 tour pak on my 2012 and all I did was change the holes as described and it worked fine. Good luck on your project.

The mount is the same from 09+. 08 and earlier were the round tube mount. The Pak itself did change for 14+. Shape, LED lights, etc.
Physically mounting it to your bike is no issue, whatever mount is on the 2011 Pak will fit the frame or quick detach kit on your bike. Wiring, that's on you.
As said you can get either the 09-13 rack or the 14+ rack. The mounting points are the same. I would suggest the 14+ rack as you can slide the TP about an inch for more passenger room if need be. Just be aware you may need to raise the TP about 1/2" to clear the opening bag lids. If they interfere, just add washers to raise the TP on the rack.

This is correct. I bought a used 2011 tour pak with the quick detach mount and it fit perfectly on my 2014. It did not have any lights so I added some from Custom Dynamics. If you need a wiring harness, call them and they should be able to get you what you need.
Namz also has the harnesses. Im dealing with a tour pack now for my 21 RG special. Bought a new tour pack and everything else for it. Namz has everything you need.
IF they would have had a RGL I would have bought it to avoid the cost and work involved to do it
