When you remove the battery, always disconnect the negative cable first. (It's usually black, and the corresponding terminal on the battery is normally marked with a “-” sign). If you switch this order, nothing bad will happen — if you don't make contact between the positive side of the circuit and the ground

Pull the left side cover. In the fuse block it will be the biggest one. Mine is 50A. I clean the contacts and put dielectric grease on it when I reinstall it.

What’s the reason for ignition being on when pulling the fuse and why is the fuse being
pulled?

My bet is that the alarm has a battery of its own and will think you are cutting the power and stealing the bike.

It’s time to replace the battery in your ride. If your bike has a security system on it and you don’t want to listen to the siren while you change your battery here’s what to do.

No Alarm Battery Replacement!

Turn ignition to on (engine not running) with fob near, pull main fuse.

Turn ignition switch off.

Replace battery. Yes, do remove the negative cable first and reinstall it last.

Have fob near, put main fuse back in.

Turn bike on and check that everything is working correctly.

Done.
