Default Painted my windscreen

I was looking at my bike and thought to myself: “Self, she ain’t blacked out enough”. So I remembered that I had a can of black plastidip. I removed the windscreen and started painting it in light coats on the inside part. It took about 5 coats to make it completely covered.

I have to say, I like it! The great thing with plastidip is that it is easy to remove but at the same time, pretty durable.

I think I will keep it!

Interesting approach but is it against the law in some states? A police officer could pull you over and site you for too dark of a tint on a window.

Looks good. I've done that on some bikes but it would impede my view on my RGS.

Meh, I don't think they will bother with this. For cars, I can see that. My head is way above the bike's windscreen.

So you run fork fangs and fairing deflectors to held with wind buffing.
But you have a windshield that your head is way above?

That is correct. The wind that causes buffering comes from under the fairing and from above the fairing. My windscreen has a curve in it, so it deflects the wind above my head.

Looks like a Klock windshield, I like them except for the fact of really distorted view of the road on the sides.

Looks good @maxxym

They are sold in a black out form and don't meet the Federal guidelines to be considered a windshield. No AS1 markings and not rated for safety of any kind. It is merely a wind deflector. No LE in the country could cite you for that. If they did, I'd take it to court and fight it. If it doesn't count as eye protection as far as the law reads, they can't enforce it.

And the point of the Klock Werks is to look over. Looking through distorts the view and doing that for long rides will leave you with a nice headache.

Just curious so are you saying you get no wind in your face with this shield.
And it just goes over your head?
If that’s true I want one.

I now have a similarly shaped screen on my '07.
(bought one for '14+ and drilled new mounting holes so it would fit the older fairing)

Wind is deflected around and over, eliminating wind directly tot he head.
Previous screen was the 6" flat version that's pretty popular, but the wind hit me square in the forehead and after riding for just an hour, my neck was sore all night.

The newer style screen works so well that even after an 11+ hour freeway ride, my neck didn't even notice.
