I have a 2004 road king and my brake light are not working but running lights are I checked the fuses and they are good can anyone give me and idea of what it can be? Thank you
Neither the lever or pedal make them work? If that's true, it narrows it down to wiring from seat back to bulbs starting at relay.
Now it also depends on how long you ignored say the brake pedal not working and lever working. If that's the case, then it could be the lever switch and the hydraulic pedal switch.
I have replaced the lever switch once and the hydraulic one 3 times. That one I gave up on Harley and got a Lifetime AutoZone one for a 55 Chevy.
PS . Note that a Softail does not appear to have a brake light relay I don't think. If it does, not sure where it is. I don't have access to wiring diagrams on my phone.

You can see that the brake switches operate the brake relay. I would start by checking the operation of that relay if neither brake operation works the light.
