Default O2 sensor codes

I have a 2011 FLTCU, which I bought used.it had a set of slip Ons with an Arlen ness big sucker air cleaner on it with an FP3 tuner. cylinder exhaust pipe got pretty hot while I was riding but I never paid it any mind because I thought i was just riding with my foot too close to the pipe. Put a two brothers 2-1 Shorty setup on it with a big sucker stage 2, flashed the bike with the fuelpak, everything was great, until I noticed discoloration in the rear cylinder exhaust pipe, turning blue (would look sweet but i know it means it's getting too hot). Rode for about an hour today and it threw codes for both O2 sensors for rich and lean in both cylinders, shot my headers with a temp gun front was about 270 and the rear was about 420, way to high, no pun intended. Anyone ever ran into something like this and have a suggestion where to start? I was gonna run down the list of parts staring with O2 sensors and ending up with a new tuner until it was fixed. Thanks in advanced. Roughly 38000 miles fluids changed at 35000, before that I do not know.

You might just want to pay a shop to dyno tune it, thats what I did with my bike when I put a two into one thunderheader on it, now my bike don't even use the o2 sensors anymore and no check engine light, instead of throwing parts at her?

Just based on what you have reported, it would seem to be a tune problem...

Or perhaps when you switched out the exhaust, you mixed up the O2 sensor plugs...

A common mistake is to misconnect the O2 sensors, rear to the front and front to the rear... That would cause all sorts of bad O2 sensor readings that throw off the AFR/tune...

Not a bad idea, but I was hoping to save that for when I put cams in her, only place around me that can do it is the dealership and they charge a pretty penny

Thanks a lot, thats exactly what I didn thought because the plug was in front it went to the front pipe, but the manual says its backwards gonna take it out tomorrow and hopefully that fixes the problem

If the plugs were mixed up, that should be your problem....

It's funny how many people mix up those plugs when changing out their exhaust....

I recently changed exhausts on two of my bikes. Each of the manufacturer's had "notes" or "warnings" in their install instructions that mentioned making sure to get those plugs correct....

They were probably tired of the "I put your pipes on and now my bike runs like crap." tech calls....

So swapped the plugs, cleared the codes and rode for about an hour, codes didn't come back, however my rear cylinder is still running significantly hotter than my front. doesn't seem to affect the performance, revs up the same, has power through all the gears and so on, but the 100+ degree difference is a little concerning (I think, at least not an expert here)

You talking head temp, cylinder temp, or oil temp... How is it being measured...?

I've never checked the temperature delta between my front cylinder and my rear cylinder (assuming with a temp gun)... but 100° difference does sound a little excessive... I've heard of 50° delta between the two, but have no personal experience with that number...

If all else in good shape,I would suspect a much higher than normal rear cylinder temp (which normally would run hotter than the front) would be due to running lean.... I'd be checking the tune or for a faulty rear injector...

Good luck and report back what you find...
