I’ve got the H-D adjustable and it’s the best investment I’ve made so far. I won’t ride without mine now!

+1 on the driver's backrest! Tried it out on my Street Pig and have not taken it off since.

I’m the outcast here. I have back issues, and ran the HD backrest for a while. What I found was that sometimes it helps my back to be able to stretch out, which the back rest prevents. Also, when riding 2 up, and if we have a rapid deceleration event, I can’t image what it would do to my wife’s lady parts.

Maybe I’ll sell it if there is demand.

I'm also in the no backrest camp though had one with the Ultimate Seats setup which is an incredibly comfortable seat.

My last seat was a Danny Gray, did the Saddlesore on that seat, current seat is a Saddlemen which is better than the DG. Both have that nice deep supportive pocket which imho eliminates the need for the backrest which is also kind of in the say at times though they will fold down.

They are good though, try one and see.

I never had one on my ‘03. My ‘12 came with it. I like it. When I accelerate, it keeps me from slipping backwards. I remove it when my wife rides with me.

I consider it a must. It saves a lot of back strain.

Had one on my 2001 FLHR with mustang seat. made it worse for me. The angle was not right. Rode to Alaska without it. Been over 10 years since I used it. Really suck for passenger.
Lots of people like them.

I didn't care for the chafing when riding over bumpy roads, which seems to be most of my riding. My seat is modified to support my back below the waistline. On highways it would be nice.
