Default Is a driver backrest worth it?

I don’t do long distances on my 01 RK but I’m wondering would a backrest be worth it traveling country roads? What got me thinking was watching YouTube videos and anytime the subject comes up everyone speaks of how great they are.Being older now I’m thinking it may be a good idea. I looked into them a few years ago and never bought one but now I’m rethinking that decision.

Yes. Best mod I ever did on my Limited. Short rides, long rides, country roads or hwy...it's a keeper.

I'm just shy of 72, and I have a 2 up seat and a backrest, and a solo with backrest. I use them from time to time, and I like having one there when I want. Bike is an '08 FLHT, Stage 2, with a cubic buttload of miles on it, but still runs well. Meaning I ride it a LOT. And having that backrest prolongs the enjoyment of riding, especially for an older rider. Even an amazon cheapie can make a big difference.

You don’t realize how much muscle strain you’re putting on your lower back until you get a backrest. And then you will.

65 years old here. Didn't need or want one for a long time. A couple of years ago I realized I ain't in my 50's anymore. The backrest extends my riding pleasure.

Absolutely will not do a long ride without mine. Makes a huge difference and relief on your back. Doesn’t look like much but makes a difference.
