BCM dynamic load isolator
Been thinking about lighting up a few things and came across this. It isolates aftermarket lighting from the BCM so that the BCM cannot be damaged from "failure" of add on lighting. Really never thought about this before. It's recommended to keep OEM warranty by isolating after market add on lighting. (I know HD would have to prove the aftermaket device took out the BCM so lets not go down that road). $109 for the isolator is cheap enough IF needed for nothing more than peace of mind. https://www.customdynamics.com/dynam...ailsAndFitment
Gimmick or does it actually provide protection? Seems like a nice test point to check for voltage should an add-on dodad bite the dust.

I have no experience with the device.
If I was doing turn Signal and tail lights and run of the mill led update. I would not use it or even worry about it.
I do think it's a great idea if I was going to do some kind of Carnival buggy and add a bunch of stuff.

Yeah, no plans to do anything like that, just some CD run, stop and sequential turn Bagz lights and maybe a vent led with directional in the fairing.
Depends on ur needs.
I only added plasma rods to serve as brake/turn lights. Did not need the BCM. But different lighting configurations or add-ons may need the BCM.

…and Custom Dynamics were great to deal with in my experience!

I have not used the device, but have added numerous Custom Dynamic light systems in and throughout my bike. The LED systems are pretty much self contained and the BCM is not in danger of a failure due to a faulty light.
The people at CD are awesome and I'm certain if you called and asked, they'd tell you that you didn't need it.

These circuit isolation devices are popular in the Gold Wing community. Them boys like to hang more lights and gizmos on those bikes like I've never seen. LOL.

Imo, being a retired EE, short of putting battery V +10V volts on any output down to a dead short should not hurt the BCM. It may shut down the line but it shouldn't burn out.. Now if it's a situation where the load is too high, I could see it these devices as a way to add lighting that would normally cause a fault.
