Which One??????
Thanks again all
yeah, we have a 07 GW Trike, but that's for "US" to ride on long trips together...the comfort of the GW trike for the passenger can't be beat for us "older" folks
...maybe I should qualify myself. I've owned 20 Harley's over the years, from Sporty's, one Pan (man, shouldve keep that one) to FXLRs ( best handling bike HD ever made) to Ultras.....owned four GWs....last one bought to trike.....but....I still need the "ME" bike, fun factor and all.....tried the metric route, good bikes to be sure, but didn't do it for me.....so now looking at the HDs again....narrowed it down to the SG or the FLSTC.....like the hard bags, got use to that with the wings and UC...lockable and all.....loved the FLSTN (93) that I had, but never have ridden a "B" motor...think I would like the smoothness of it, but ya never know.....
SO, I'm trying to pick all your brains for insight into the SG and Heritage.....never owning either one....to those that own either one, I know you like them or you wouldn't have bought one....but any issues I should be aware of???? I remember the heat issues with the UC...they were HOT....is the SG having the same issue???? The crossover pipe always got to me on the UC and the FLSTC doesn't have one......I do love the radios, CB, cruise, and other "creature comforts" of the touring models, but can adopt a J&M unit with a Ipod and get some of the same, although not integrated as the touring bikes......
SO, here I am, which one, ummmmmmmmm.....
Oh, gonna have to change screen names, no white UC anymore......

The only reason to go with a Heritage is if you hate vibrations at idle. It has the B motor. That is theONLY thing it has on the touring bikes.
Anyone will tell you, the touring bikes may vibrate a little at idle but as soon as you give it a little gas it runs smoother than the Heritage.
Not only that, the touring bikes have the air suspension which I think rides a lot better than the softails. And you can get hardbags which don't come on the Heritage.
Road King or SG would be my choice.

You will not get that comfy ride with the Heritage as with a touring bike;the Street Glide looks sporty, but some including myself don't like the mirrors built into the sides of the bat wing. I'll agree with what someone else suggested "keep the Electra Glide", you can convert it from a touring bike into a sport touring bike in a matter of minutes.
If you're going with an '08 I'dvote for the Streetglide; fairing w/ radio, engine guard, lockable hard bags, Brembo anti-lock brakes....seems like the better bike for only a little more money.
