Default Kuryakyn Running Board Extenders

Has anyone installed these? Good or Bad?

$24 on eBay.

Installing this kit moves your stock driver boards outward 3/4 of an inch. It doesn’t sound like much, but it really makes a big difference. You don’t have to hug the gas tank with your thighs to get your foot fully on the board. They also help to alleviate some of the heat build-up by allowing the hot air to get out between your leg and the bike. All bolts are stainless and the spacers are powder coated black for durability. Running Board Extenders are compatible with fairing lowers.

Note: Not compatible with Chrome Display Stand, H-D part number 99002-97.

I wrote this up, along with how well it can work with some of the H-D footpegs..

Good...no, excellent. On you SG with the lowered rear suspension you will also notice that your floorboards will scrape much more readily than stock, and was unacceptable for me. I raised the floorboards up to the highest notch and now I can't scrape them even when I try, and I didn't notice the added height after the first five minutes of riding. Just raise them while they're off to install the extenders, and that way you save the extra step.

I didn't buy the kit, I went out in the shop and cut two pieces of 3/4" heavy wall pipe 1 1/2" long and moved my right side board out. You have to use longer bolts of course. Love what it did, my right leg had a way of working back against the air cleaner and vibrating, don't like that.

I also removed my rear shift lever so my left boot had more room, love that also.

I bought some steel spacers at either Lowes or Home Depot and painted them black. Moved mine out 1 inch.
