Default Here's what the dealer said!

I was ordering parts for my yet to be delivered 08 Ultra and told them I wanted the following:
SERT
True Duals
Big Bore kit (103CI)
upgraded cams
SE A/C
Oil Cooler

Dealer said if I'm getting a SERT, then I'm defeating the purpose of the SERT by getting true duals ("and you don't want those", he said. "they rob you of low end torque"). He also said that although true duals will help with some of the heat issue, that's really only for guys who ride in So Cal, Arizona, New Mexico, etc. (not Oregon).

I don't want to negate the warranty; but DO want to make sure I address the known heat issues, help my Ultra run better, and give myself some extra roll on power. What is your opinion?

My opinion is that your dealer does not know what they are talking about.

Heat issue. What heat issue?[8D] I just installed the PCIII today. Better power but still not a lot of relief on the heat. Will put TD on mine as soon as I can afford to.

I agree with Terry, sound like his talking from somewhere besides his mouth.

Terry is right....tell your dealer to say "NO" to crack, it is affecting his judgement

I'm not a Harley wrench, but I know people who are, and I've been told the same thing concerningtrue duals robbing you of torque.

If performance is your concern, then go with PCIII instead of SERT. PCIII can be readjusted when you make another performance change, whereas the SERT cannot be readjusted.

Why can't you readjust a SERT? That doesn't make sense to me.

Sorry but you are incorrect about the SERT. All you have to do is plug it into your PC to make any adjustments you want. You will never notice any loss in torque with the duals. I've been running them for 3 years and love them.

I doubt most of us can feel the 3 or 4 ft pounds of torque you lose with true duels.

true dual will make less torque .. same as drag pipes make the bike slower.. its true!
