On trips I store my tools in a large leather whiskey bag. Works perfect. I throw in the few wrenches and sockets extensions etc I may need, along with needle nose and regular pliers. I bring quite a few of my allen and torx sockets. If it has a witness mark on it it goes in the bag. That and a reg and phillips screwdriver and I'm good to go.

I carry a spare shifter peg and a spare shift linkage. Takes up no room. If you ride long distances often it's just a matter of time.

Last year on my newest Ultra Limited my hydraulic clutch quit working coming back from Montana. Quick stop at a NAPA store to buy a vacuum bleeder and a bottle of brake fluid, 10 minutes in the hotel parking lot and she was good as new. Moisture in the system....

I have a leatherman and a tire flat kit. Every time I see these threads, it think 'oh,good idea, I should carry THAT....and then THAT....and then THAT.......next thing you know you are just a rolling tool box with expensive paint. These arent AMF bikes and I have cell coverage 99% wherever I go. The fact of the matter is, other than loose fasteners (which shouldn't be loose if you are doing the proper preventative maintenance) there isnt much you can really fix on the side of the road anymore. (I am going to throw a few zip ties in my bag though and probably a cheap screwdriver/allen wrench combo tool kinda thing).

lol...believe it or not I do know what a blowout is. I also know that you aren't fixing one of those on the roadside no matter what tools (and spare tire) you happen to be carrying with you! I also know that Ride-On has got me home times that I would have had to get the bike hauled home or to the nearest shop after picking up a screw and getting a flat. I swear by that stuff.

I think people over estimate what they gonna “fix” on thier bike. Here’s my list
1. 7/16 wrench to take off my seat
2. small fold up tool from Harley that has t20/25/50 Allen keys on it as a well as a couple screwdriver heads
3. jump pack
4 some zip ties and a couple bungee cords that’s more for hauling
5. some fuses
i usually have a leather man tool on me as well. Anything more than that in my opinion is taking up space. The goal is to get somewhere to get bike fixed not to rebuild engine on side of interstate.
6. also bottle of slime and tire repair

^^^ exactly. Typically, something just comes loose. Linkage, mirrors, etc. Maybe a fuse or a bulb. Anything else will probably need parts/materials on top of tools.

Carhartt makes a sturdy canvas wrap. Put in the stuff most likely to use. Ha! I even have a set of spark plugs like the old days.

Tools to remove fuel tank, battery, and adjust belt tension.
T-27 and T-25 sockets, driver.
Leatherman.
Tire plug tool and inflator.
Jump box.
Everything but jump box fits into a canvas military type tool bag.

Do the maintenance on my bike with my onboard tool kit. Including tire/wheel remove and replace. In addition to tools, I carry the Stop and Go tire plug kit and a small air compressor.
