i had cc points so i bought the hd hog booster. it is a rebranded noco. i've never had to use it on a bike, but i have used it on a couple cars, and the on board usb is useful for charging wireless headsets, phones, etc if needed.
i don't care what battery you buy, in this louisiana heat, you're lucky to get more than 2 years out of a battery. i just go to the local battery warehouse and get a yuasa. substantially cheaper than the hd, lasts just as long.
I understand that but I would assume some are better than others, and some may even be junk.
I didn’t find out I bought something that was common knowledge was junk so I figured I would post before I buy.
Actually OEM batteries are the best. I got 7 years out of them 2 times in the row. I use tender 2 times a month in winter and no tender at all during summer
just Google 'batteries for sale in your area'. I have a place called 'batteries and bulbs'. no need to tell you what they sell.
I'm sure you'll have a similar store in your area. take yourold battery with you. there's usually a $10 or so charge for a 'core charge'
In my area, the have a Duralcell AGM battery with a two year replacement warranty. They have two on my local websites. The CCA are the same, but the Amp hours are different for some reason.
The lithium is on year 3, now. So far, never a jump start in extreme heat, and cold nights in Montana down to 20*. I will buy again.
I have a lithium on my Sporty going on 7 years now. Still fires up like it was new. Although the King gets most of the saddle time, the Sporty is on a tender when not riding. Still debating which to go on the King when it's time.

Very similar to what I do. I have gone through many 7 year old harley batteries. It is why I go back to them despite the price. Normally I am replace with better than harley type person.
I never even had pigtails to charge until a couple years ago. I added so I could check battery voltage quickly. But I don't.
The people who guy through batteries, I suspect buy cheap, don't ride, or live in really hot areas.
I think riding is better than charging for you and the bike. Will see if I change my mind, with newer bikes, and start using a tender.
