Default Battery Issue
I bought my Glide in March 2012. Since day 1 have used a battery tender. I just replaced the battery tender with a Genius 1100 and now it's telling me my battery is no good. It has been a little hard to start for the last 3 months so maybe Genius is correct. To me, it seems unusual for a stock HD battery to go out in less than 2 years. My Road King battery lasted about 5 years. Has anyone had same problem? I assume this isn't under warranty but I need to check. I am going to pull the battery and have it checked.

I have a 12 SG also. Stock battery is giving me some issues also. Maybe we just need a better battery.

It happens. I've seen some go in 6 months. Some 8 years. I recommend the big crank from battery mart as a replacement.

Just because the bike was built in '12 doesn't mean the battery was.

My bike was hard to start when my stock battery was going. It would crank slow, delay, then fire up. The battery showed good voltage, but no good on the load test. It would show fully charged on the Battery Tender. But they just read volts, not amps. After putting in a new HD battery, she fires right up.

The only way to tell is have it load tested. I have a 10 Limited and the battery is still good. But that doesn't mean a thing other than my battery is still good. Yours could easily be on it's last leg.

One more thought. If you battery does not load test good I'd look at your battery tender just to make sure it's working correctly.

If i am not mistaken, the battery is warranted for 18 months on the original purchase.

So, where are the good battery deals these days? My CDN dealer wants $250, I almost had a stroke when I got that answer.
