1995 Electra Glide Police Cruiser The fella before me decided to add a push button starter that by passes the clutch switch. I planned to remove it but before I got carried away I only disconnected the power from the relay he installed (its all aftermarket jacked together crap) once I took power away from his relay the handlebar controls only click the factory relay doesnt turn over. Any help on sorting this wiring out would be fan
tastic
Power to the relay connected two contacts in relay that completed the starter circuit. By removing the power you disabled the only thing completing the circuit.
We need to identify what is on the relay terminals. If it's a three terminals relay one will be power, the other two will be the incoming stater wire and the out going starter circuit.
If the relay has four terminals one could be ground.
Use a volt ohm meter or test light to identify the power terminal when the starter button is used. If it's a three terminal relay then try jumping across the two other terminals. If the bike starts permanently connect those two wires together.
It could be a lot more complicated depending on how the relay was wired in but the above instructions are a starting point and possible solution.
I traced wires and I believe I can clean up what the last guy did and I realized what I done right before I read your post 😂😂 I think I can mount and clean up the wiring to the installed relay and pull one pin to take the button out of the mix and that will make me happy!
