I bought my 2021 Road King back in the beginning of November of 2022. Started having right knee issues in the spring so I had surgery. That was 12 weeks ago and it is feeling strong enough to ride. I have not been riding since the early 80's and to be truthful I was a little afraid of the bigger bike, I am an old man. Took the wind shield and bags off in case I dropped it. Got on it today and rode for 14 miles, no stopping me now. Yea, that's right. It is fun.
Congratulations. If you haven’t ridden in 30 years consider taking the MSF Basic Rider Course. You will learn some good defensive riding tactics.
You will soon realize that there are more distracted drivers than ever. I have noticed a big increase in drivers staring at their phone for long periods of time without looking up this year. Ride like your invisible.
I'm not sure what you mean by 'Old'. I just turned 60, I had my left knee, full replacement right after Christmas, 2022. I took delivery on my 22 RGS a few days before that surgery. I made my bike part of my workout routine, and motivation. Part of my exercises starting in about February were getting on/off my new bike in my garage. Then moving it around the garage, putting the kickstand up and down, backing the bike up. By the time the nice weather came, I was ready, that was almost 5000 miles ago, I'm loving it, I have taken a couple of motorcycle safety courses even though I rode back when I was a young man. Well worth it, nice bike, good luck in your travels!
As to the big bike, lot of hen talk, just ride. A Harley isnt for zipping around corners or drag racing, theyre made to ride for miles in comfort. They do that extremely well.
Ride it often, ride it fast.
Sharp Road King. I have an RGS but first love is the King. Had the blessing to own a King so its not wishful thinking. One day again.
