Ok fellas, what is used to clean the engine without harming the powdercoating...? I've been very careful not to spill any oil get any wax or anything on this surface, but now it it getting to where just rinsing it of ain't getting it... lost it's dark black color... is armorall out of the question?
My son says Honda makes a really good product for this.. I have a bottle of super clean, (kinda like simple green) it'll take grease and oil from a driveway... kinda Leary of using it....
And when it's clean is there any need to put some kinda protectant on it?
I spray s100 total cycle cleaner on a cool engine and use a paint brush to get in the tight areas. I then rinse it off. After drying with a blower I spray down the black powder coating with Pig Spit found either at the stealer or walfart. The pig spit really brings back the new look of the engine well. There is also S100 engine brightener which does the same as Pig Spit, but less dust sticks to the Pig Spit IMO...
On cold engine I water down and cover with Pig Snot, let soak and rinse well, then leaf blow dry for a while to make sure all is dry. Works great. Then I use the Honda spray polish to finish clean all surfaces.
