Do Map Updates Cost?

Do Map Updates Cost?
The dealership told me I should be able to download 1 per year for free, but when I go through the fingerprint / ToolBox process, I only see where it forces me to buy the updates (for $150!!) . Am I missing something?

It's a 2021 SG Standard and I'm a happy Google Maps / Apple Car Play guy. However, when I'm camping it's typical to fall off the grid so having the onboard maps is a great backup. I know I can download the Google Maps for where I'm going, but sometimes I forget.

I have an 8 year old Garmin Nuvi that I use for my King. It gets map updates every year gratis. And I don't have to worry about any drop outs or cell service when I visit some of those God forsaken places. You can pick up a newer 6" screen version now for less than the price of that map update. Just another option.
