I know this may not make sense to some, but I need to ask either way.
I have a ‘14 FLHTK that has a broken left side lower. My bike is Daytona Blue pearl, and I can’t find a paint shop that can figure out the color, HD does not have the paint for sale, and everything I find online regarding it being a PPG factory pack, is a dead end. I have tried to contact ppg directly to no avail.
AdvanBlack has the lowers for sale with color match Daytona Blue Pearl, which everyone that has purchased their parts seem to agree that the match is near perfect.
The issue I have is, they only have lowers for air cooled, not twin cooled. I know the Harley painted covers on the 2014 air and twin cooled lowers are the same, and would accept the back plate and guts of either, and can be changed/switched to accommodate radiators and vents.
Now, finally, my question is, has anyone purchased the advanblack lowers and been able to bolt the black parts (back plate and glove box) from the originals to them? I asked Advanblack directly but they don’t seem to know if they are compatible and or if they both have the anchor points in the same place. The only answer I get is “if you want to use our lowers you need to get rid of the radiators…” Yeah, No”
There's been a few threads on here on aftermarket painted parts. Perhaps your dealer can get you the H-D part you need unpainted and have The Factory Match do the paint. Might be worth giving Factory Match a call.
Pretty sure you can get the broken part and use the other pieces you have.
this may help you some. i have air cooled bikes, not twin cooled. but, i did purchase the amazon tcmt lowers in vivid black (less than $100), but the advanblack lowers in industrial grey denim. what i found is that the lowers themselves were virtually identical to each other. if not for the paint, you would not know which is which.
now, the story doesn't end there though. the tcmt/advanblack lowers come with some cheapass textured plastic on the glovebox. i hated that. so i ordered the upper glovebox parts from hd and swapped out most of the parts, only adding about $100 to the cost. i was able to save money because i also found a take off set of gloveboxes so i've switched the gloveboxes on both the advanblack and the tcmt lowers. they aren't 100%, but close enough that unless you knew what you were looking for, you wouldn't notice. and since lowers are so close to the road and get blasted by road dirt, grime, etc. i'm not worried over the small stuff.
May not answer your Q fully but I have the ADVAN lowers on an air cooled bike. Added HD twin cooled grills to them to get better cooling/wind through them. Grills fit fine.

Thanks for the info. I reached out to them but they don’t have the color.

here's pics to give you an idea:

That’s awesome! My theory (which makes sense) is that advanblack took a set of HD lowers copied every part from them to make their own, using cheaper materials, off course, as I’ve read they are made of thinner plastic. I just needed to make sure factory HD parts would bold on to the advanblack painted shell.
what do you think isn’t perfect, the fit or the finished? To the HD parts align well?
Thanks man, this is exactly what I am looking for!!!
