97 EGUC
Engine light comes on and goes off. Voltmeter drops to about 10 volts at idle and climbs to about 14 volts at higher rpm’s. Voltage regulator? Bike has just under 70k miles.
May sound like a dumb question, but is there a way to read codes on a ‘97?
At idle the voltage is around 10 volts. At hiway speed it climbs a bit over 14 volts.

To add, normal for the oil light to be on when you first start the bike, and should go off in about a half second once the motor pressure comes up.
If code is stored, then when you start the bike, instead of oil light going off right way, will stay on for about 10 seconds more before going off.
And being an Evo, motor idle needs to be set at 1K RPM's, or your going to have oil pressure problems to being with the motor idling lower than that, as well as low charging voltages as idle as well.
The light doesn’t come on at idle, it comes on around 40-50 mph. It goes off as the rpm’s come down. Also the voltage swings from around 10 volts up to 14 volts as rpm’s increase and drops to 10 volts at idle. I haven’t noticed this swing in voltage previously.
