Default Electrical connectors on throttle cable?

05 Electra Glide, carb, no cruise or abs. Replacing my throttle cables to put on apes and there are 2 wires connected to a spade connector that looks like it just completes the circuit Anyone know what this is for and my new cable doesn't have it? Can I just connect the 2 wires together and forget about it? Looked in the manual and didn't see anything. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If both wires are going to the same connector, it appears, from where I’m sitting, that they are the same wire. Can you post a photo?

Only thing that wires up to the throttle cable, that I'm aware of, is the cruise control roll off switch. Sounds like that was installed. Can't speak to Harley's oem wiring harness, but I wouldn't be overly surprised if the wires are there for it. So perhaps the previous owner installed cruise control throttle cables and wired it up to the harness. Probably pointless, but it would cause me to look at the throttle body to see if there's a third cable down there.

Thanks Fox, but no throttle body it's carbed. Did carbed bikes have the cruise option?

I have no idea. No reason it couldn't work on a carbureter, but I don't know if Harley did it or not.
The cruise control unit back then was a reel on the left side of the bike, under the left side cover. It ran the cruise control cable up to the throttle body, where it attached as a third cable. If you've got that on your bike...

But, I more suspect someone somehow ordered a cruise control cable by accident, found the hanging connectors there (assuming Harley had this in all harnesses), and got excited and hopeful and hooked them up. Can't think of any harm that could come from that.

Does it look like what is circled in the pic? If so, as stated, that is the roll off switch which is only necessary for cruise.
