Shipped bike from CA to IL. Installed new battery ran fine for a couple weeks. Recently went to ride bike very very dim warning lights and nothing when hitting start. Battery 1 month old. Tested and load tested just fine. Put battery back in, replaced FOB battery looked kike all things were a go. Bike tuyrns over won't start. Yes I have gas. Replaced spark plug wires, replaced crank position sensor, still no start but it cranks over like a healthy system. Only oddity is the bike was in the desert all summer (heat) now moved to a more temperate climate in the midwest. Ran fine for a week or so now this out of the blue. Any suggestion on where to look next? And if giving a suggestion maybe an explanation on how to? I have mechancial ability but may be ignorant to some issues that could be causing my problem. Much obliged in advance.
Are you getting a spark? Test with an extra plug grounded to head.
PS.. welcome to the HDFORUM.
Bike is OK.
From another duplicate thread...
So after all that I went to secure the battery. Lo and behold there was the thinnest of black wires, I mean super thin wire fell down alongside the battery. I reattached it and lo and behold the bike started. I thought this wire was awfully thin to be a crucial piece it looked like an accessory wire but once reattached the bike started right up. Ok so I put some new plug wires, and spark sensor in it but at 50K in miles it certainly didn't hurt to replace but it's all good starting and running just fine. Silly me.

The fuel line quick disconnect on the bottom of the gas tank occasionally shifts just enough to cut off fuel flow. Removing and reconnecting the quick disconnect usually restores fuel flow. Can you hear your fuel pump prime for a few seconds after turning the ignition on? Cycling the run/stop switch (right hand switch housing) off and on wouldn't hurt anything either...and it is free. Good luck.

Yes, but if the fuel pump pressure regulator/filter housing is broken, or the fuel line from it to fitting on bottom of tank is cracked inside the tank, then fuel pump may run fine, but will not build up any pressure to the fitting on the bottom of the tank,(that sends fuel to the injectors}.
So you can do the listen test for fuel pump to come on, but helps to open the gas cap on the tank, to make sure fuel is not being cavitated by the above problems or just put a pressure gauge on fuel quick connector to make sure tank is building fuel pressure in the first place.
From there just check for spark, and the only thing lefts if bike will still not run (not something else major), fuel injectors are not being fired to get fuel to the cylinders.
Would guess maybe tuner on bike, and that wire is the ground wire for the after market tuner.
Hence no power to tuner then , then injectors and even plugs are not going to fire when after market controller does not have power.
