I mount the remote controller on top of the front brake reservoir using heavy duty velcro tape.

Get the dual controller as you can control your heated gloves and jacket separately. You don't have to go Gerbing. Others make them as the connections are pretty universal.

I have the Warm 'n Safe unit here and Gerbing sells their own here. The remote units are paired to the receiver and have replaceable batteries. Gerbing does make a handlebar mount for the remote, but you can probably use it for other brands.
Thanks for helping me spend my money Decided to splurge and ordered one ($20).

I have the digital controller attached to my tank with some 3m double sided tape. Had it like that for a couple years over a few different bikes and I've never had an issue with it coming loose. In fact I actually had the opposite problem where I got off the bike without unplugging and pulled the main controller housing off the bottom of the unit lol.My wires just run under my seat and all excess is zip tied together out of the way.

I use the Gerbing wireless dual controller, the wireless receiver is located in the wiring pocket on liner with just the power lead hanging out. I plug that one wire into the lead coming off the battery that is sticks out between the seat and tank, next to the dash. For the wireless controller itself, I trimmed a QuadLock sticky back to the back of the controller and when I use it, it is mounts to my QuadLock bar mount, at my finger tips pretty much. When the wireless controller not in use, it sits on a QuadLock stick plate in my saddle bag.

Your spending money deal is just starting. I found with heated gear came the discovery of the next part that would get miserably cold without another piece of gear. When it got cold enough for my face shield to fog over, that was the lowest temp I needed to worry about. If I wasn't going to be able to see, I just didn't take the bike. Enjoy all you can stand.

How long does the battery on the remote last? Can it be hardwired? What happens if you’re on a trip and the battery dies? Right now I use a wired setup, with a clip I put on the back of it and clips to my left pocket. It works, but I like that remote idea.

Excuse my technical answer but they last a long time. I've had mine a couple of years and haven't replaced it. That said the battery is a common CR2032 and it is user replaceable. Even if you didn't have a replacement or lost the remote you are not stuck. You just use the wired temperature controller which you still need to have plugged in, you'd just lose the remote capability.
