2017 Road King. K&N air, V&H slip ons. I installed the Dynajet PV4 last week, did about 8 tuning sessions and my impressions has just been 'meh'. 20% of the folks here seem to say that they noticed an improvement with this combo, the other 80% say 'you need a cam to feel any difference'. I ride the bike hard, Im heavy on the throttle, I just cant bring myself to pay 3-4 grand for a cam job. I used to build car engines for fun, but that was years ago, so I know my way around a wrench, but I dont know if Im willing to undertake a cam job
by myself.

I did a stage I with Powervision on a 2020 107 and I coudn’t tell any difference. My neighbor cammed and dyno tuned a 2019 107 and the difference in performance (and exhaust volume) was QUITE noticeable. I rode it before and after.

$3,000 for the whole thing recently by a very reputable local tuner here in NC.

It is easier than one might think. Tons of videos on YT, and threads here that cover the how-to.

Poke around in the Classified sections, there are guys letting go of cams and parts cheap.

For instance, there was an RS468 cam in there for a fantastic price, and that is a great cam for your bike. Best bang for your buck in the performance area, hands down.

I don't know......... I just got an estimate for my 2022 SGS from my dealer, of all places, for an SE Torque Cam, SE Lifters, SE adjustable Push Rods and Covers, installed and he'll download the tune for it with the SE Pro Street Tuner that I already bought, and these are CA prices! I mean, the SM and SW and I are cool and all, but 3-4 grand seems HIGH to me, soooooo....... might want to shop around a little more bud, JS.

PS- the reason I'm not doing my own cam install this time is because I just got this bike this summer and spent the extra $$ for a 5 year ESP on it with unlimited mileage. I put 173,000 miles on my 14 SGS in just 6 years, so I feel this is a good investment. Beside, the 14 will be the aftermarket hot rod when I get done rebuilding it......

I cant say it runs any different, I was more after less heat, and I didn't use any scientific methods to verify.
I do know I will never have an issue with a clogged cat converter. And cost me nothing.

So what are the chances that gutting the cat causes a loss of back pressure and I loose bottom end? ( Im not real concerned with top end, I only see speeds above 95 for very short spurts on very limited straightaways here in upstate NY. )
