RE: bike cover -- my experience
I got one from Wal-Mart. Works great !!, but I keep it covered in the garage and have never left the bike outside.

I also have the one from Wal Mart and use it when parking at work. I also have to bungee it but have had no problems with it coming off.

I got one last year from nelson rigg.

Falcon Defender for about $80 or so.

Rolls up nice and neat and doesn't take much space. When we travel it's always in the saddle bag. Won't scratch and has heat shield along the bottom for teh pipes.

So the Walmart cover would be the X-Large one and you need to strap it on with cords right ??

That is correct. Sounds like some use the Large so you may want to try it. I have a RG and the XLARGE is plenty big! Would need to strap it up for sure in the rain/wind.
