Switch on console question

Default Switch on console question
The switch on my console has a spot in it just before it goes into the run position where it can stop and make me think that it's in the run position but actually not. The motor will not turn over when I'm thinking it's ready to go. It gives me a little scare when I don't get it turned enough because of course it won't start.
This just started happening this weekend so I'm not sure if it's new or it's just the first time I didn't get it into the right spot. Is this a prelude to an ignition switch failure or is it common?

The acc is to the left, I'm talking about turning the switch to the right.
