No need for compression relief
Baby purrrrs now
My numbers are fantastic
For your riding style I think you would be fine with something like HQ34 or Andrews 26g cam, Fatcats and a fuel management setup and dyno. If you do the work yourself you could save some serious cash, even if you did the whole 95 kit. You could even go 98 if you wanted to
Beware of cams that don't get up in torque till 3K plus RPM. The recommended 26Gs are good but the 21Gs come on much sooner. My solution for the budget minded dude who wants to keep the bike and make it super reliable= Andrews gear drive 21Gs, S&S oil pump upgrade Kerker slip-ons with the performance (Mikuni/short) baffles and retuning as determined by dyno with AFR. This advice comes to me via answer to me e-mail in American Rider from the Harley GURU. BTW,in general you only gain about 3 HP and 3 flbs. with the 95 and stock heads, so leave the bore till you need to freshen up the top end otherwise.
Scootin: Who's 95" kit? 95" kits are like a loaf of bread or a bottle of wine--there all kinds and quality.
With your riding style, you would be better off (IMHO) changing the primary drive (compensating sprocket and clutch sprocket) from the 3.15:1 you now have to the 3.37:1 that used to be OEM on EFI baggers from '99-'01.
The parts cost is $450 list from HD and labor would be a couple of hours. It will be like putting a 4.11 rear in a car--instant torque regardless of gear or cam choice. Do a search on the forum for "3.37:1" and you will see many happy riders. It will add about 200 rpm at 75 mph.
If it's just TORQUE you're looking for??? Save the Big Bucks and just put in a good CAM & Fat Cat & Dyno it.... If it's the complete package??? Put a 103ci kit in it... Nothin' better the Cubic Inch for all around performance...
Most folks say it is not wise to do 3.37 unless you go to a 6 speed if you do a lot of highway driving because of the rpm's. So, in any event it should work fine with the DD6.
