2008 error code ?
Threw a ABS code on my 2008 FLHTC sunday. The code is c1023. I am still waiting on my service manual{b/o}.
Dealer just put a new rim on Friday. It was leaking air. They dropped the bike off at my house by truck, so I didin't get to ride it till today.. I checked the sensors and they are all hooked up. My dealer is not open till Tuesaday. I cleared the code but itcame right back. And Ideas?
Thanks Art

This could be a faulty sensor, loose wiringor it could be a faulty magnetically encoded wheel bearing. To install the new ABS bearings in the a wheel it is a little tricky to keep from damaging the bearing and you have to follow the instructions.
If it was the rear wheel that they replaced....i would look towards the bearing.
I would suspect the dealer tech did something during the wheel replacement.
they should take care of it.
Maybe forgot to plug it back in, pinched / broke a wire, Didn't seat the sensor properly?

Well, there ya go... a couple days ago I started a topic on what I learned from the local wrench discussing ABS recal'ing after service work on the ABS and wheels... I was more or less "shut down" by brother forum members who said there is no difference between work on an ABS bike and a Non-ABS bike.
I believe you will see more and more discussion in the future regarding ABS repairs and cost increase!!
fire away guys... but I'm just the messanger!!

Thanks guys for all your help. I called a open dealer today and they say the same thing. Rear wheel code. Not standing up for the dealer but it was a heavy rain on Thrusday here in Calf. and that is why the bike was trailered home. Maybe there don't test them in the rain.?
I guess back to the dealer......................again................. ....................................

I did check the bearing numbers they put in and they used the correct abs bearing part number. I did check the wiring for the sensor to the abs module and it was connected also. I cleared the code and it comes right back with in a mile of riding. Now if my dam dealer was open today I do have the day off. Go figure.....

Lastest update, bike was at the dealer for 2 days. They have no idea. Called head quarters and still waiting for a call back.
I go home and study the parts book{still no service manual B/O} and I find out the wheel, when youinstall a new rim it does not come with bearings. The ABS uses a encoder bearing on one side and a stock bearing on the other side.
I look at my invoice and they installed 2 encoder bearing! Do you think two bearing sending a signal would create havac on the sensor?
I called them this morning and told them about the 2 bearing.
Need less to say ,tonight I drop it off again and if I am right they owe me big time!
