Got my new corbin gambler seat for my 06e-glidelast night. Put it on moved me back to inches. Couldn't reach my highway pegs. Called corbin about returning it , they said no refunds. WHAT BULLSHIT!!!!!! Said for $200.00 they can move forward two inches. Or try to sell one-bay. I'll never buy from them again.
I have heard horror stories like this about Corbin, I have dealt with them at several levels both as a customer and an investor, I have never had a problem in any of my dealings with them. I don't think I would buy an off the shelf seat from them or anyone else for that matter. I certainly would not accept the no refunds answer without kicking it upstairs. I went to the factory and had one built, very pleasant experience and they adjusted it for no additional chargethree times after test rides to get it right. I would contact Mike Hannigan (Corbin Himself) if need be to get it right.
I am not disagreeing with the fact that the seat SHOULD be returnable. BUT...Corbin is specific about their policies. And the seat specs are on the site. It should not come as any surprise that the seat moves you back.
I had a very good experience with Corbin. Not sure if you went to the factory or ordered online or something....but if you go there, like stated above, they have you take it for at least 3 test rides to make sure you are happy with it...
to be honest, I don't know of a single seat vendor anywhere that seems to be willing to let you try the seat and then give it back if you don't like it. I am totally baffled why that is, but, it seems to be the case. Unless you know someone with the exact bike and seat as you are looking for so you can try it out, every seat purchase is a crap-shoot...
I've just sort of figured that out since buying my sporty, never had to buy a 'different' seat before... and I guess we gotta live with it. But, lucky for me, I am happy with the seat I finally got.... Spending up to $400 or more on a seat and not knowing if it will feel right seems a bit risky to me.
