First off does your wife have a like minded sister, you lucky son of a gun.I bought my first HD a 2006 EGC and spend heaps on getting it to run right ( no heat,no pinging, quite deep sound & usable power ).I took a 2008 EGC for a test ride last week and I have to say it ran much better than my 2006, so my advise is don't touch a thing unless it not right.
Everyone does the A/C upgrade ( as I did ) but after reading lots of discussions and tech write ups you will only get a benefit in the higher revs ( 5000 plus ) from an A/C upgrade and I don't think to many EGC riders go much over 4500 rpm.
As far as exhaust mods, with whats going on with the ever changing Db laws I would think sticking with the stock unit or maybe HD upgrade
is the way to go, unleast untill your warranty expires.LOUD EXHAUST MAY SAVE LIVES but it will also give you a bad headache and in my case Tinitus which is a real inconvienence as you get on in years.
Having said my piece, Congrates on the scoot and enjoy.
