It might not be any easier to get an 08 model (specially w/ ABS)
From what I learned, dealer unit alotment is based on previous years sales.
If sales are slow, and MoCo cuts production, then you have to wait.
ABS models are hard to come by as it is!

SOOOOO?????

Alotments have always been based on later year sales - But alotments do not include SPECIAL ORDERS & yes you have to wait 8 - 12 weeks at times...

Good Luck,

If you order a bike, my dealer suggests you can expect an average 6 to 8 week delay, depending on several factors, including but not limited to...

Stock at the factory

Dealer sales and previous deliveries

Current inventory at the dealership

Good luck!

Seems to me that the MoCo seriously underestimated the demand for ABS. Getting that feature is the reason my bike (FLHR) will have taken about four months by the time it gets to me. The good news is most of the waiting is over. It should ship out from York next week (fingers crossed!) and I'm guessing I'll have it about a week later.

I'm actually glad to see the high demand for Harley's ABS, though. That'll prompt them both to make more bikes in the future with it and to support continued advances of the technology.

12 wk wait or my FLHX picking up, picking up tomorrow. ABS is an option.

The ABS was the primary reason I chose the 08. Otherwise, I would've saved a few thousand and picked up an 07. Haven't had cause to use the ABS yet, but the peace of mind was worth the wait.

I would love to have ABS, but seeing as my bike is paid for, and I don't want any payments, I will just keep my old run down '05 rk custom. LOL
