Default Replacing shocks

Removing the stock shocks from my '07 FLHX and replacing with "13 shocks. Is this difficult? Do I have to remove the mufflers? Can I do one shock at a time or do both stock shocks have to be removed prior to installing new ones? Bolt tourqe specs? Thanks!

Hi undo the shock bolts before using a lift to raise motorcycle Place a bottle jack under the backtyre pump the jack to it lifts the back wheel 1/8 inch. Now take the bolts from one shock at a time and lower the bottle jack 1/2 inch and replace with the new 13 inch shocks.Remove bottle jack and lower motor cycle to ground.Torque bottom shock bolts 35 -40 ft lbs and top shock bolts 33-35 ft lbs Hope this helps these torques are from a 2007 Harley Manual

Mufflers stay on, 10 minute job to swap shocks.

mufflers do not have to be removed. I replaced mine on my RK and was very easy. I did not have a jack, so i did one side at a time. w/o a jack you have to lift the back end a bit to align the bolt with the thread. It was a very easy mod. Good luck.

Thanks all. It is currently 1 degree where I live and my garage is not heated, so I will be waiting for a warm day!!! One more question. Will a torque wrench fit on bolt without removing mufflers? As you can tell I hate removing mufflers!!!
