left side of the motorcycle.... If you areon the machineyou will reach down by your left leg and pull the lever out from the front and it will release the backrest to move. It is a little difficult to locate the place to mount it, but there is a unused hole under there to mount it to.

Thanks, as you can see, the main focus was the black wheels as I traded with my buddy for his black wheels as he has a 2007 Ultra that had those black wheels on his red and silver Ultra. My Road Glide came with silver wheels and I wanted black wheels. When I posted this pic, someone asked what that lever was for. So I remembered that when I saw this thread

Can you let me know if the back rest pad is easily removed so I can pop it on for long trips / lock in saddle bag for theft? I know the non-adjustable pad is easily removed by squeezing the bars.

Thanks,
Mike

pops out real easy. i love mine. takes he pressure off my back on long runs, especially when resting legs on highway bars. the hole is a little hard to find for mounting the handle and you have to have small fingers to get the nut inside and hold it while you start the bolt. had to take one of those flat wrenches and bend it so i could tighten it. kinda a pain in the *** but worth it in the long run. next time i would gladly pay a little to get it done. cheaper than throwing a wrench and hitting the bike, etc....ride safe

Yes, a latch behind the backrest located down at the seat level. Pull the latch and out pops the backrest, fits right in the saddlebag.
