Default Replacement Running Lights

I saw a post recommending GE 4509 aircraft sealed beams as a brighter replacement bulb for running lights. I found them on an aircraft supply site and the specs are as follows:

GE4509 100w 110,000cp 13.7v25 life hrs $10.75
Q4509100w140,000cp13.7v100 life hrs $24.75

Has anyone used them? How do the specs look? I have a question on the voltage being 13.7 and the bike having a 12v system. Does anyone have any input or warnings about these buldbs?

I'm trying to get more light to the front both in daytime and night.

13.7 is in the normal range while the engine is running. Pretty much the same as a cage electrical/charging system.

I would think that 100w is too much for the spot lamp wiring to handle. I would be willing to bet the wiring would melt/burn etc...

Just my $.02 worth.

Take a look at the PIAA bulbs. I haven't used them so I don't know what their life span is but I recall seeing some replacement bulbs, for the headlight at least, that were well above the standard output. I would be careful looking at the Sylvania Silverstars, I used them in my pickemup truck and they didn't last more than about 3 months. They were bright, but at the cost of lifespan.

I used 100 watt aircraft landing lights for a while. They were too blinding for other drivers.

I swapped to 35 watt unfluted bulbs. They are just like the stockers, except they have clear lenses, which shoot a beam straight down the road instead of dispersing it to the side.

You can get either bulb from NAPA or Tractor Supply for about 9 bucks each.

Besides the voltage, which is a non-issue, I was concerned about on coming traffic and how the landing lights would affect them. I will try the 35w bulbs.
Thanks for the input.
