I'd like to take a second and pass on my appreciation to all of you for the awesome and abundant information that I've been able to pull of this site. Got a break in the weather the past two days - temps in the 40's and enough sun to melt the ice off the roads so.....I broke away from work early both days and was able to put the initial 100 miles on my girl. She sure was quirky - definitely running lean - so today, while the rain was absolutely falling in buckets, I installed the Wild Pigs I picked up a few weeks ago, rejetted the carb (#46 slow, two #4 washers under the needle and drilled out that stupid idle mixture plug so I could put some strength back in her) and topped it off with a Big Sucker. She sounds like a completely different beast. Runs a hell of a lot smoother, idles great and doesn't give me that lame lean-surge (very crisp response). Due to the deluge we were experiencing here in New England, I was only able to run up and down the street a bit before we both got soaked but she sure seemed happy. Of course, tomorrow and following they are calling for snow so who knows when I'll be able to finish my break-in (all I ask for is clear roads). CWO - 05 FLHT
