Kuryakyn LED inserts
Anyone have the "plug in" LED inserts for the stock SG turn signals? I'm interested in the load equalizer that comes with them. I put LED turns on my night train and could never get the load balancers to work properly so that I didn't have fast blinking turn signals.
My question is if the load balancers that come with he kuryakyn kit are plug in or if you have to splice them in? Has anyone tried them on an '08? I know the computer is a little pickier than it used to be about LEDs and I don't want to run into the same problem I had with my night train.
Thanks!

I have the plug in LEDs from Kury and the PanaceaTallight on my 05 Roadie. I put 2 equalizers on, both Kury bc I have LEDs in the front and rear signal lights. They all plugged in, no splicing and turn indicaters are nice and steady, not fast at all.
Do you ever notice the load equalizers getting hot and/or melting things that are attached to them? Where do the load equalizers plug in? in the lights themselves or under the seat?
Thanks!
Thanks!
For what it's worth, the load equalizers that come with lights are usuallypretty cheap and not very reliable. I had one get hot enough under my seat to start to burn the wires connected to it. Started to smoke while I was in heavy traffic on the Freeway. Had to pull over and disconnect it. I bought a good equalizer from Biketronics (about $50) which runs my lights (aftermarket led in the back along with a flash module for the brake light) with no problems. Barely even gets warm to the touch! Do yourself a favor and get one of the good aftermarket equalizers, they are worth the money.......
I have never noticed them getting too hot but I do not ride in heavy traffic either. It says not to run the 4 way flashers for 'extended periods' due to heat, I have not donew that ewither. They are cheap enough if they get hot or you're unsure get a better one. The are under my seat, 1 in front of the battery, one zip tied to the frame. Both plug into the wiring for the rear located under the seat.Hope this helps ya.
I have used the Kuryakyn equalizers for both sets ofLEDsturn signals for the past 4 years with out a problem. I would not call there stuff cheap. I would consider them quality aftermarket.

FYI - If you have an '07 or '08 model there seems to be various problems with the Kuryakyn LED's or Panacea lights. Several of my riding buddies have tried to get them to work consistently with no luck. They will work for awhile then start acting very strange. They contacted Kuryakyn, which indicated that the MOCO has modified the wiring somewhat. Just be aware!
I installedthe complete Panacea setup with the Kuryakyn equalizers. I have had no problems in the past six months. No splicing. Also the instructions tell you to secure them to metal to absorb some of the heat. They do get warm, but never hot enough to melt anything, not even the zip ties holding them tightly to the metal. The secret is to keep the securely against the frame or some of large metal object.
I love the brighter lights and the integrated turn signals and brake light. Every behind be see me, and fellow riders always ask were I bought them.
